Important Security Reminder
Due to the open nature of blockchain contract deployment, fraudulent phishing contracts occasionally emerge. Malicious actors may exploit authorization processes to impose excessive gas fees. When initiating or revoking authorizations:
- Carefully verify estimated gas fees
- Confirm transaction details before proceeding
- Exercise caution to prevent unnecessary fund loss
Understanding Wallet Authorizations
What is wallet authorization?
Wallet authorization grants smart contracts permission to access assets in your wallet. For example:
- Authorizing Uniswap to trade 1000 USDT
- Permitting partial or full asset access
While this mechanism enhances security and operational flexibility, remember that smart contracts can transfer assets without requiring additional user signatures once authorized.
Why More Authorization Records Appear After Update
Our previous system only displayed active authorizations made after wallet creation. This upgrade now reveals all historical smart contract authorizations, which may include previously unseen records.
FAQ Section
Q: How often should I check my authorization records?
A: We recommend reviewing authorizations monthly, or before significant transactions.
Q: Can I bulk-revoke multiple authorizations?
A: Currently, each authorization requires individual revocation for security purposes.
Q: What happens if I revoke an active DApp's authorization?
A: The DApp will require reauthorization for its next transaction involving your wallet.
Q: Are there fees for checking authorization records?
A: No - viewing records is completely free. Only revocations incur gas fees.
Q: How can I identify suspicious authorizations?
A: Look for unknown contract addresses, unusually broad permissions, or recent timestamps you don't recognize.
